How frequently should an AC unit be maintained?

Air conditioners should be professionally serviced at least once per year, preferably ahead of the summer season. Scheduling regular maintenance before high temperatures hit ensures that the system runs efficiently and reliably. Routine inspections can also catch potential issues early and help prolong the overall lifespan of the unit.

Why does my air conditioner stop working?

Several common issues can lead to air conditioning malfunctions. These include refrigerant leaks, clogged or dirty air filters, and electrical malfunctions. Additionally, neglecting regular maintenance or having worn-out parts can reduce efficiency and cause your system to fail. Taking care of these problems early can help avoid increased energy bills and extended system downtime.

What is a mini split system?

A mini split, also referred to as a ductless system, is a type of air conditioning or heat pump setup that doesn’t use ductwork to distribute air. It usually includes a wall-mounted indoor unit with built-in fan and coil components, and an outdoor compressor unit similar to those found in standard residential systems. Air is released from the bottom of the indoor unit, making it ideal for cooling or heating individual rooms or zones. Mini splits are available in both cooling-only and combined heating-cooling configurations.

What does a commercial HVAC system do?

A commercial HVAC system is responsible for heating, cooling, and ventilating commercial spaces such as offices or retail buildings. These systems typically include large outdoor units often installed on rooftops, although some ductless models come with compact units that can be positioned beside buildings or even on window sills.
